Ukraine is affected by widespread land mine and unexploded ordnance contamination. Japan is providing the equipment necessary for mine action, while conducting capacity building. One such equipment is the Advanced Landmine Imaging System (ALIS), a mine detector developed in Japan. Demining machine developed by a Japanese company is ensuring the safety of deminers, with fully protected body and a long arm which enable efficient work.
