One-fifth of Ukrain's territory has been contaminated with landmines and unexplosive ordnance. Ukraine is currently one of the most contaminated countries in the world. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) is a government agency tasked with protecting its citizens and territory in an emergency. Currently, SESU staffs are using equipment developed and provided by Japan to remove landmines.
