Brighter Futures: A sustainable model of schools in border areas - Puno, Perú

What changes in a girl’s life when her school becomes a place of opportunity? In Peru, more than 400,000 girls and boys study in border schools — and only 3 out of 10 understand what they read. In the most critical areas, that number drops to just 1 out of 10. In border schools, the scenario repeats itself again and again: classrooms without electricity, without water, without basic services. Places where learning becomes a daily challenge. But something is changing. 🌱 With Futuros Brillantes, Yamila now has a classroom powered by solar energy, a bio-garden where she learns by doing, water and sanitation that ensure dignity, and teachers empowered with active methodologies. Today, like Yamila, more than 700 students and 51 teachers from 16 schools in Puno and Amazonas are already part of this experience. And the results are clear: when the learning environment improves, children learn, dream, and move toward a brighter future. 🎥 Discover Yamila’s story and see how we’re helping to multiply more bright futures:
