Through the ‘Islands of Wisdom’ project, we set up an after-school learning programme in a ‘Learning Centre’ in Wandoor, South Andaman. Children from Anganwadi to class 8 have access to the Learning Centre for both its library and the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy classes imparted through Place-Based Education. The Learning Centre also has a children's library run by two community teachers - Aplonia Topno and Moumita Bhowmik, who are supported by a larger team.
