IRENA and WTO Secretariat have been analysing the measures required to facilitate the development of international markets for these commodities, including in the recent joint report Enabling global trade in renewable hydrogen and derivative commodities. Both organisations are engaged in supporting member countries to understand the actions needed to develop trade in these commodities. Complementing these global initiatives, the MED-GEM Network provides a regional perspective, assisting Southern Mediterranean Countries to build the technical, regulatory, and institutional foundations necessary to participate effectively in emerging hydrogen markets. Bringing these perspectives together, this webinar combined global insights with regional experiences, highlighting the enabling conditions required to realise ambitions for trade in hydrogen and its derivatives across the Mediterranean.
