In November 2025, Uganda’s Ministry of Health, in collaboration with IOM Uganda and with support from the Government of Japan under the JSB programme, carried out a simulation exercise in West Nile. Health workers in Arua and Nebbi districts tested their readiness to respond to public health emergencies such as Mpox and Ebola at four points of entry—strengthening Uganda’s capacity to protect communities from future outbreaks.
