At the Forefront: Empowering Community Health Workers to Protect Border Communities from Diseases
In April, IOM Uganda secured $0.9M from the Government of Japan's Supplementary Budget to assist the Ugandan government in addressing health threats like Ebola, MPoX, and Marburg in border communities. In Nakasongola district, interventions have centered on boosting the response of Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) and Village Health Teams (VHTs) to the ongoing Mpox outbreak.
