Promoting sustainable development through UNESCO’s programmes and sites | First year cycle

UNESCO designated sites have the potential to act as pilot sites for innovative groundbreaking solutions, aimed at promoting sustainable development. This video showcases the results of the first year cycle of the project under the partnership between UNESCO and abrdn Charitable Foundation (aCF). The project, funded by the abrdn Charitable Foundation, was launched in early 2022. Each year 5 sites are selected to conduct research, and promote education and innovative activities. It encapsulates a shared commitment from countries and stakeholders to contributing to a sustainable future by mobilizing the UNESCO’s scientific programmes – the Man and Biosphere (MAB) Programme, the Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP), and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) – and the extensive networks of UNESCO designated sites.” #abrdn #SustainableDevelopment #Biodiversity #SDGs #IGGP #MAB #IHP #IOC #biospherereserves #globalgeoparks #worldheritage #water #climatechange #ocean #land Link: https://unes.co/rlgaas Website : https://en.unesco.org/fieldoffice/venice
