Supporting women living with HIV | Trauma-Informed care in action

Through a grant from the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the University of Houston is providing BEAT AIDS with in-depth training on trauma-informed care. The program equips organizations with best practices to deliver compassionate, effective services, supporting mental health while improving care uptake and treatment adherence. Empowered Women (NEW) is a transitional housing program run by BEAT AIDS that supports women living with HIV. By combining safe housing with trauma-informed services, the program helps women rebuild stability, take charge of their health, and feel empowered for the future. Hear directly from the people behind this work, and the women whose lives are being transformed.
