Pamoja FM presenter Ayumah Phomie has seen first-hand what happens when her community lacks accurate, trusted information. With support from BBC Media Action, Pamoja FM now delivers reliable, in‑depth weather and climate programming to residents of Kibra, one of Kenya’s largest informal settlements. “People trust Pamoja FM so much in that what you say, what you do… is what they follow," Ayumah says. Today, the community can access the information they need to prepare, respond, and protect their families — saving lives and homes. “The station gives us prompt information of what is happening on the ground, and it is very timely and the information is true,” says Pamoja FM listener Julius Ihachi Chyamola.
