Advancing women in business in Rwanda | The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation

Kvinna till Kvinna in Rwanda and its partners recently concluded a successful Business Plan Competition under the Advancing Women’s Inclusion in Business project—marking the end of a five-month journey of intensive business development support for women-led small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Over five months, 47 women-led businesses received tailored support in business development, mentoring, and coaching. From these, 25 finalists reached the national stage, and 20 enterprises received awards for their innovative, high-potential business plans. The final event, held from July 29–31, 2025, brought together around 90 participants—including Kvinna till Kvinna partners, government representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM), Private Sector Federation (PSF), district officials, and GIZ. It served as a vibrant platform for showcasing women’s economic potential and building strategic linkages. The grassroots women entrepreneurs appreciated the recognition, exposure, and in-kind business support worth RWF150 million in total received by the 20 enterprises, which will further boost their visibility, growth, and sustainability.
