Under evacuation orders

“We get affected by every word said by someone who hasn’t lived this pain.” Sarah, who has been displaced together with her family in 2024 from Khiam – South Lebanon – and last March from Southern Beirut. The latest escalation on Lebanon started three months ago. Once again, homes have been destroyed, families have flown, people have been killed, and memories are all that is left. Sarah, together with Tharwat, a member of WeWorld staff in Lebanon who has also been displaced with her family last March, tell us what it means to be displaced in our latest short film Under Evacuation Orders, produced thanks to the support of Italy by Chloe Khoury, Laura Menassa and Ameen Abo Kaseem. Together with AICS Beirut, in the last three months we have been supporting families displaced and affected by the attacks in the Bekaa, Baalbek-Hermel and Akkar regions, through the distribution of water, tailored hygiene kits, essential items, and on-site reparation of critical infrastructure. We have been present in Lebanon for the last 20 years, alongside the population, both national and refugee communities, adapting our intervention to their evolving needs.
