在太古集團慈善信託基金的支持下，第三期「惜海洋 續未來」項目由2023年5月至今取得眾多海洋保育工作上的進展。除了在WWF海下灣海洋生物中心 進行的珊瑚及海草育養工作外，我們亦邀請持份者及公眾參與活動，親身協助科研團隊進行珊瑚及海草床的修復及先導研究工作，令海洋生境回復健康同韌性。 另外，項目亦與内地專家合作進行關於生態系統服務核算的研究，為海洋空間規劃的政策制定工作提供更好的基礎。我們期望透過這些工作，令更多人如項目名稱一樣珍惜海洋，令海洋在未來可以持續繁盛，更希望實現「30X30」 這個長遠目標 : 在2030 年前確保至少30%香港水域受到海洋保護區或其他有效區域保護措施的保護！ With the support of the Swire Group Charitable Trust, WWF has launched the Sea for Future III project. Over the past two years, we’ve made substantial progress in our ocean conservation work! In addition to #coral and #seagrass nurturing efforts carried out at the WWF Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre, we’ve also invited stakeholders and the public to take part in the research teams’ coral restoration work and sea grass bed restoration pilot study, helping marine habitats regain health and resilience. Additionally, we’ve collaborated with experts from the mainland to conduct a study on ecosystem services accounting, aiming to provide a better basis for marine spatial planning policymaking. Just as the project title suggests, we hope that through our efforts, more people will cherish the ocean so that it will continue to thrive in the future.
