In Colombo, Sri Lanka, childhood vaccination continued, even amid recent economic challenges. The country’s commitment to immunisation is a key part of why Sri Lanka’s childhood immunisation coverage stands among the highest in the world, between 97–99%. And when the country faced a severe economic crisis, Gavi’s Middle-Income Countries Fragility Approach stepped in to ensure the national immunisation programme didn’t falter.
