Boda Girls: Essential Health Workers in Kenya
In rural Siaya, Kenya, something simple is changing how mothers access health care and immunisation.
For many families here, the nearest clinic can mean walking long distances or paying for transport they cannot afford.
A local foundation trained 38 local women like Jane William Otieno to ride motorbikes, and now they provide pregnant women and mothers with young children with free rides to local health centres.
This means one less barrier to health care, and more children receiving life-saving immunisations.
