Magic Boxes Help Prevent Learning Loss in Emergencies
Even a short break from school can put a child’s education at risk.
When learning is interrupted, children can quickly fall behind. Weak foundations make it harder to catch up — and over time, some children may never return to school.
Along the Thai–Cambodian border, many children have been displaced by clashes and forced to pause their education. UNICEF has delivered Magic Boxes filled with age-appropriate toys and learning materials, helping children continue to play, learn, and feel a sense of normalcy even in emergency settings.
Because learning should never stop!
And when schools reopen, rebuilding core skills like reading, writing, maths, and emotional wellbeing must be a priority.
