The WHO Family of International Classifications (WHO-FIC) Network

The WHO-FIC Network of Collaborating Centres was established in 1970 to assist the World Health Organization (WHO) with international classifications. It includes three main classifications: the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), and the International Classification of Health Interventions (ICHI). The Network supports the use and updating of these classifications. It helps create standard health data, which is vital for monitoring health, developing policies, and making decisions. By promoting consistent data collection and use, the Network enables countries to compare health information and supports global efforts to monitor progress toward achieving Universal Health Coverage and health-related Sustainable Development Goals.
