What we’re seeing in our clinics in Iran

The latest on health care in Iran: While a ceasefire is currently in place and has brought some relief, the situation remains fragile for many people who rely on essential services. At our clinic in South Tehran, our teams treat around 250 patients each day. Grigor Simonyan, MSF head of mission in Iran, talks about the importance of primary health care in times of emergency: "This is often the most neglected part during emergencies, as the Ministry of Health and other health actors are focusing on critical cases, surgeries, et cetera. Iran also relies heavily on locally manufactured medicines, and pharmaceutical production has been severely disrupted as a direct result of this war."
