“A death accelerator”: The targeting of medical workers Lebanon

When Israeli forces kill paramedics and other medical workers in Lebanon, that means fewer wounded people can be rescued and treated. On May 12, a drone strike hit three paramedics in southern Lebanon as they were attempting to assist an injured person who survived a previous attack. Two of them were killed on the spot. This was not an isolated incident. MSF teams in Lebanon have been witnessing the consequences of airstrikes, drone strikes, and artillery fire, which are damaging hospitals, ambulances, and medical equipment, and killing or injuring civilians, health workers, and first responders. The targeting of health care workers must never be normalized. Attacking health care workers is a war crime.
