Launch of Kenya National Plastic Action partnership (NPAP Kenya)
The Global Plastic Action Partnership (GPAP) is a global, multi-stakeholder initiative launched by the World Economic Forum in 2018 to tackle plastic pollution and support the transition towards a circular economy for plastics. GPAP works with partner countries to generate data-driven insights, support national strategies and mobilise action across the plastics value chain.
In Kenya, this work is being advanced through the Kenya National Plastics Action Partnership (NPAP Kenya), jointly established by the Government of the Republic of Kenya, led by the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, and the World Economic Forum’s GPAP. UNDP Kenya serves as the secretariat. As an initial priority, NPAP Kenya will support the development of the National Action Roadmap on Plastics and the Gender, Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) Report.
