FFA Director-General Noan David Pakop video presentation at PIFLM54 (09/09/25)
FFA Director-General Noan David Pakop provided a brief but impactful update to Pacific Leaders at the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting at the Friendship Hall in Honiara.
In a video presentation on Tuesday 9th September 2025, Mr Pakop highlighted that tuna stocks in the Pacific - skipjack, yellowfin, bigeye, and albacore - remain biologically healthy, making our region the only one in the world able to make that claim.
He further outlined the tangible economic and social benefits from tuna fisheries, including growing national revenues, employment, and processing, while reaffirming FFA’s commitment to Pacific-driven solutions in the face of climate change, global pressures, and IUU fishing.
“The progress we have made tells us one thing – working together makes us stronger… let us continue to lead the world in sustainable fisheries management – for our people, our ocean, and our future…iumi tugeda - as one Blue Pacific.”
