“Doctors told me that if my children do not undergo surgery before the age of 12, they will lose their eyesight.” Mayyada is a mother of twins born with severe visual impairments. She struggled every day to care for her boys and meet their needs. With the cost of their eyeglasses and lens implantation surgery out of reach, IOM and the United States Government stepped in to assist.
