Observed under the theme “𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.”, the Day highlights the importance of advancing disaster risk reduction, preparedness, and resilient development. As the region commemorates one year since the 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟖 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫, 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, ADPC continues to advance locally led initiatives to strengthen preparedness and response capacities. Through the 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 #LEAP 𝐌𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, supported by the Gates Foundation, ADPC, in collaboration with local partners, has reached 𝟒𝟒,𝟗𝟖𝟑 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 across 𝟏𝟑 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬. ❗️The program has delivered essential assistance, including hygiene kits, food supplies, non-food and medical items, mental health and psychosocial support services, and targeted capacity-building initiatives, ensuring timely and context-appropriate support to communities most in need.
