During the 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, Mr. Aslam Perwaiz, Executive Director of Asian Disaster Preparedness Center - ADPC, welcomed participants and highlighted the journey of the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CARE) for South Asia project. Mr. Perwaiz underlined that “CARE for South Asia project empowered decision-makers with knowledge products, tools and services to act locally on climate-sensitive issues, aligned with the World Bank's aims and goals of reducing climate and disaster risks in South Asian countries. Over the course of the project, we worked closely with national and regional partners to develop and implement tools that 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. We supported governments in building institutional capacities, improving access to climate data. Our engagement with diverse stakeholders was essential in 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬. I take this opportunity to extend my sincere appreciation to the World Bank, implementing partners, national counterparts, regional institutions, and stakeholders whose dedication and cooperation made this initiative a success.” 𝐇.𝐄.
