Working the nexus between conservation and agriculture; Products and steps forward by IUCN

CEM'S Agroecosystems Specialist Group hosts this webinar focused on the nexus between conservation and agriculture through the IUCN structure, featuring presentations from four speakers. Liette presented the Commission on Ecosystem Management's work on agriculture, including their mission to provide expert guidance on ecosystem management and their involvement in Resolution 002 on accelerating nature-positive sustainable agriculture. Pascal and Simon from the IUCN Secretariat's Food and Agriculture Systems Program outlined their vision to catalyze food and agricultural systems that value and conserve nature, highlighting key tools and initiatives including the agricultural sector interpretation of the IUCN global standard for nature-based solutions and a land health monitoring framework. Elodie shared how IUCN Europe translates headquarters' outcomes into regional priorities, focusing on policy engagement and project implementation across European agricultural and environmental policies. The presentations were followed by a Q&A session where participants discussed challenges and opportunities for collaboration, particularly around agricultural landscapes and OECM recognition.
