NACW 2026 - Path 3: The Whole Impact of Social Safeguards
Path 3: Governance
The market has continued to progress with its support of requiring social safeguards for projects. The support is seen from buyer demand and from requirements by standards bodies. But what is the financial reward for projects with social safeguards compared to ones without? How influential are the social safeguard requirements from standards, and do the social benefits and protections recorded in project documentation actually reflect the reality for the indigenous communities? This session explores answers to these questions.
