NCTF Mentorship Exchange Workshop– St. Lucia
The NCTF Mentorship Exchange Workshop was convened in St. Lucia as a targeted capacity-building initiative aimed at strengthening the institutional, operational, and governance frameworks of Caribbean National Conservation Trust Funds (NCTFs). The workshop brought together representatives from the Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund (SLUNCF), Dominica National Conservation Trust Fund (DNCTF), and St. Vincent and the
Grenadines Conservation Fund (SVGCF), including Chief Executive Officers, technical staff, and Board Members.
The initiative, supported by the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) through its Endowment mechanism and the Caribbean Regional Architecture Biodiversity (CRAB) Project which is funded by Agence Française de
Développement (AFD), and French Global Environmental Facility (FFEM), focused on enhancing institutional effectiveness, promoting standardized systems, and fostering peer-to-peer learning across NCTFs.
A key emphasis of the workshop was strengthening governance structures, financial stewardship, grant-making
processes, and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems to improve transparency, accountability, and
biodiversity financing outcomes across the region.
