Bees, Community and Belonging: Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund | CBF NCTF Stories

In Saint Lucia, beekeeping is a model for inclusion, resilience, and the harmony between people and nature. This video features the Farmers with Disabilities Beekeeping Association, a group supported by the Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund (SLUNCF) that is challenging perceptions of disability while cultivating bees, growing crops, and protecting the environment. Just as bees work together in unity toward a common goal, so too does this community. The SLUNCF channels CBF funding to grassroots organizations across Saint Lucia, strengthening biodiversity conservation while creating meaningful economic opportunities for women, youth, and marginalized groups. This video is part of CBF's NCTF Stories series, produced to mark International Biodiversity Day 2026 under the theme Acting Locally for Global Impact. The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund supports a network of National Conservation Trust Funds across 12 Caribbean nations, providing sustainable conservation finance to protect the region's biodiversity for people and nature.
