Testimonials/Highlights - Advancing Tobacco Control in Africa

Tobacco use remains one of Africa’s most urgent public health and development challenges. At ACBF, we work to strengthen the capacity of governments, institutions, and civil society to design, implement, and sustain tobacco control policies that protect lives and future generations. This week, our team is proud to participate in the Eleventh session of the Conference of the Parties (COP11) to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) in Geneva, taking place from 17–22 November. hashtag#FCTCCOP11 We are engaging governments, partners, and civil society organizations sharing insights and contributing to the discussions shaping Africa’s tobacco control agenda. Our latest video features testimonials from partners and practitioners driving tobacco control efforts across the continent. Their stories reflect steady progress: ✅ stronger governance structures ✅ improved coordination among key actors ✅ renewed commitment to safeguarding communities across Africa These experiences show how collaboration, technical support, and capacity development continue to empower the institutions and actors leading this important work. This progress aligns with Africa’s vision for a healthier, more resilient future under Agenda 2063. As conversations continue at hashtag#COP11, these voices underscore the importance of capable institutions, strong leadership, and sustained investment in people.
