How to Apply for the Africa Think Tank Platform Call for Proposals
The African Union Commission (AUC), in collaboration with the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), with support from the World Bank Group, invite African think tanks to apply for multi-year funding under the Africa Think Tank Platform (ATTP) Project.
Who Can Apply
• Consortia of 3 to 5 African think tanks
• Strong track record in public policy research
• Demonstrated regional collaboration and institutional capacity
• Only one application per consortium

• Form a Consortium
Assemble 3–5 eligible think tanks with one lead applicant.
• Complete and Compile Documents
Fill in all forms and gather required attachments.
• Submit Online
Upload your complete application through the online portal by 24 September 2025, 23:59 EAT.
What the Call Supports
Grants of up to US$4 million will support research and policy engagement in these areas:
• Economic transformation and governance
• Climate change
• Regional trade
• Food security
• Human capital development
• Digitalization
Gender inclusion and policy harmonization are cross-cutting priorities.
Documents to Submit
Applicants must submit the following:
• Completed Application Form (available in English and French)
• CVs of team leads
• Signed Commitment Letter from each participating institution
• Detailed Budget and Timeline
• Summary of Past Research Experience relevant to the proposed work
All materials should be submitted in a single application package by the deadline.
