Rising mosquito-borne infections, extreme heat, and worsening air quality are already harming the communities that contributed least to the problem. Addressing these risks requires solutions built by and for the people closest to them. Nexa, a new Climate x Health initiative, is investing in solutions that help local health actors turn climate-risk signals into timely action, reducing health harms from mosquito-borne infections, extreme heat, and poor air quality. Applications must directly address at least one of the following areas of focus: climate-informed early warning and monitoring systems, and climate-responsive patient care delivery. We are investing up to $200K USD in Proof-of-Concept innovations in Africa and Brazil, and up to $2M USD in Transition-to-Scale innovations in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
