World Intellectual Property Day 2026 Youth Video Competition: Meet the Winners
How is intellectual property (IP) powering the future of sports?
The youth video competition for World Intellectual Property Day 2026 focused on how IP rights support creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs in the world of sports.
The competition drew over 180 entries from 43 countries.
The competition, launched in January 2026, called on participants to submit a 90-second video around the theme “Game Changers: IP Powering Sports Innovation”. Meet the winners:
• Third prize: “Behind every stroke... creativity worth protecting”, by Thekrayat Abu Samra, Jordan.
• Second prize: “I am not a great athlete... Unfortunately”, by Charlotte Terryn, France.
• First prize: “Sound of Victory: Bridging the Esports Frontier through Accessible Patents”, by Kang Cheng, China.
• People's Choice Prize: “Kalaripayattu – a Traditional Sport: IP and its Protection”, by Neelima Bogadhi, India.
