No woman should die giving life. Yet, every two minutes, a woman dies during pregnancy or childbirth—and most of these tragic deaths are entirely preventable. Midwives save lives every single day. They provide vital care throughout pregnancy and childbirth, making them the beating heart of healthy communities. But the world is facing a massive shortage. We need 1 million more midwives to ensure every mother gets the life-saving care she deserves.
