Nature in 2035 NDCs: Catalyzing Commitments and Synergistic Action for Nature The event will showcase leading examples of 2035 NDC ambition, nature-based solutions (NbS), and alignment with National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) within 2035 NDCs. It will highlight available resources for countries still developing their NDCs and discuss how nations can catalyze their NDC commitments into action and investment that also advances biodiversity, land management, and sustainable development goals. Speakers from the Nature4Climate Coalition and select country governments will highlight ambitious NDCs aligned with Global Stocktake (GST) guidance. They will explore the diverse ways countries are harnessing nature as a climate solution across mitigation, adaptation, loss and damage, and ecosystem restoration, while showcasing efforts to ensure that climate action is inclusive and nature-positive. The discussion will feature insights from UNDP, Conservation International (CI), The Nature Conservancy (TNC), and WWF on emerging trends in NDCs, including through UNDP’s Climate Promise initiative, emphasizing the integration of NbS and their linkages with NBSAPs. The event will conclude by focusing on practical next steps for countries transitioning from NDC target-setting to implementation, highlighting guidance, resources, and country experiences that can accelerate progress and maximize outcomes for both climate and biodiversity.
