Ramadhan Mini Series - Suhoor

Ramadhan Mini Series - Suhoor

Ramadan brings reflection, but also real-life dilemmas for families in Kismayo. 🌙 This year, those dilemmas were brought to life through a series of radio audios aired on Kismayo Radio, capturing the everyday nutrition decisions families face during the holy month. 📻 With Germany’s support to Somalia, under GIZ Somalia’s Promoting Climate-resilient Food Security in Southern Somalia Project (CFSP), Taysha and RDI led the development and airing of radio audios to promote healthier food choices during Ramadan. Across the day; from suhoor 🌅, to the long afternoon hours ☀️, to iftar 🌇; the audios explored relatable questions: → What does a balanced suhoor look like with limited food at home? → How can families stay hydrated during long fasting hours? → What does a healthier iftar look like for the whole family? These were simple, story-driven audio segments designed to reflect real life and offer practical, achievable solutions. Listeners heard familiar situations, local foods, and realistic choices because in contexts like Kismayo, improving nutrition isn’t about more food, it’s about making better use of what is already available. This is what effective behaviour change communication looks like: • Meeting communities where they are • Using channels they trust • Turning everyday dilemmas into learning moments 🎧✨ Listen to the rest of the Ramadan radio mini-series here: https://youtu.be/tiGRQc_0sf0 #GIZ #CFSP #Somalia #Nutrition #Ramadan #SBCC #CommunityHealth #ClimateResilience #Kismayo #Jubaland #Taysha #RDI
