🌄 🐫 🐫 🐫 The Silk Road Caravan sets out from Türkiye on a journey across Eurasia — from the legacy of UNCCD COP16 in Riyadh towards COP17 in Ulaanbaatar. Along the way, it will carry stories from rangelands: of open steppes and highland pastures, of communities whose lives are shaped by the land and of pastoralists whose knowledge has sustained people, cultures, and ecosystems for generations. At a time when these landscapes are too often overlooked, the Caravan is a reminder that rangelands are not empty spaces. They are homes, livelihoods, heritage, and hope. As the world marks the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists 2026, this journey invites us to recognize, respect, and restore the lands and communities that sustain so many lives.
