The Pacific region is on the frontlines of climate change — facing rising sea levels, intensifying cyclones, and increasing pressure on livelihoods and ecosystems. Strengthening how countries report on adaptation is critical to ensuring that these realities are effectively communicated and supported at the global level.
To support this, the Capacity-building Initiative for Transparency – Global Support Programme (CBIT-GSP) is launching a five-part webinar series on Adaptation Reporting under the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF).
This first session provided a clear introduction to
The role of adaptation reporting under the UNFCCC and Paris Agreement
Key reporting instruments, including Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and Adaptation Communications
Why adaptation reporting matters — beyond compliance
The series is designed for Pacific Island Countries, bringing together national experts, technical focal points, and government representatives to:
✔️ Build practical skills for reporting under the ETF
✔️ Share regional experiences and good practices
✔️ Strengthen coordination across institutions
✔️ Support preparation for upcoming BTR cycles
