Barcelona to Milan... or to Los Milanos? Unfortunately, Renfe's website lists a train station in south west Spain with no passenger service as a possible destination, but not one of Italy's most visited cities. However, the Barcelona-Milan route is one of the busiest international air routes within the EU. We've all experienced what it is like to book cross-border rail tickets. Most passengers get their tickets on major operators' websites: in some countries they sell 90% of tickets. But these sites are failing at ensuring rail users can get tickets from the beginning to the end of their journeys. With air ticket prices soaring, it's even more urgent to fix this.
