This design feature is why SUVs are so dangerous
It's not just the size of an SUV that is a danger to road safety: the high-fronted design leads to more fatalities on European roads.
SUV bonnet heights are rising every year, making them more and more dangerous to pedestrians, cyclists and other drivers. Just a 10 cm increase in bonnet height from 80 cm to 90 cm raises the risk of death in a crash by 27%.
We can't allow the EU to weaken its vehicle safety standards and cause a flood of new deadly cars into the European market.
