Are we going to let our cities turn into massive car parks? With the growing size of new cars, we could be heading that way. Our new report found that new cars are getting 1.2 cm longer every year, threatening to wipe out 14% of on-street parking in European cities by 2040 as fewer cars will be able to fit end to end on the street. The result is that cities and towns are under pressure to make parking spaces bigger and then sacrifice public space to replace the lost parking. So which do we want?
