In a country facing a prolonged humanitarian crisis, burns represent a major public health issue linked to precarious living conditions. MSF continues to provide specialized care to patients with severe burns, thanks in part to the use of these masks. The videos and photos we produced follow the journey of a patient who was victim of a severe explosion caused by a propane gas leak in her home. We first met her in December 2025, when she received her customised compression mask. Four months later, we saw the patient again, and she reported significant improvements thanks to the mask, including better skin healing.
