HGCAL Absorber Assembly Test in Taxila, Pakistan
The HGCAL (High Granularity Calorimeter) is a new part of the CMS detector that will be installed for the High-Luminosity phase of the LHC and CMS. Here, the complex absorber structure that will house the fragile HGCAL cassettes has been assembled for the first time and rotated to test the integrity of the structure. The tests were carried out at the production site in Taxila, Pakistan, before the components were disassembled, carefully packaged, and shipped to CERN for final assembly.
