On June 11, 2026, The Guttmacher Institute hosted a global launch webinar introducing the Safe Abortion Calculator. The Safe Abortion Calculator is an interactive tool that supports evidence-informed advocacy, policy engagement and funding discussions by estimating the health and economic impacts of expanding access to safe abortion care. The session was moderated by Guttmacher Co-President and CEO Destiny Lopez, with research prepared by Director of International Research Elizabeth Sully and presented by Principal Research Scientist Margaret Giorgio and Senior Research Associate Jessica Rosenberg. The event also featured a panel discussion with advocates bringing regional perspectives from Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Panelists included Karoline Kemp, Senior Health and SRHR Specialist at Global Affairs Canada, Dr. Jessica Oga, Head of Ubingwa Think Tank at Afya na Haki, Sivananthi Thanenthiran, Executive Director of ARROW, and Diana Moreno Pabon Executive Director of Ipas LAC.
