The Ethiopian government encourages its diaspora to invest in their homeland. 

Ahmed has returned to Ethiopia from Europe and India back to build several businesses and create jobs for the local community. In partnership with local partners, he is currently constructing the region’s largest filtered water bottling production, aiming to provide clean water to the community.  

With support from the EU Trust Fund and in partnership with Mercy Corps, the DRC Diaspora Programme and DRC Ethiopia have since 2020 joined forces to enhance diaspora #business investment and engagement in the Somali Regional State of #Ethiopia.
