Abdiaziz’ story: “We create jobs for my uncles and nephews, so they can be self-sufficient"

20-30% of the local households in the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia depend on remittances from the #diaspora. 

Abdiaziz currently works and lives in Sweden. Together with other family members in Scandinavia he sent remittances to build a #farm and create jobs for his family in Gode. Now they have become self-sufficient and have enough money to send their children to school.  

With support from the EU Trust Fund and in partnership with Mercy Corps, the DRC Diaspora Programme and DRC Ethiopia have since 2020 joined forces to enhance diaspora #business investment and engagement in the Somali Regional State of #Ethiopia.
