Abdullahi’s story: “I help people to become self-reliant, so they can empower others.”

In 2022, a total of USD 4.2 billion was sent as #remittances to Ethiopia by its #diaspora. Abdullahi Mohamud Farah works and lives in the UK. He invests in #agriculture in the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia and supports his family to become self-sufficient. With the skills acquired, they in turn can help others in the community. With support from the EU Trust Fund and in partnership with Mercy Corps, the DRC Diaspora Programme and DRC Ethiopia have since 2020 joined forces to enhance diaspora #business investment and engagement in the Somali Regional State of #Ethiopia.
