Webinar: Cembra pine – the queen of the alpine mixed forest

The webinar 'Cembra pine (P. cembra) – the queen of the alpine mixed forest'  was held on 6 May 2026 by IUFRO Working Party 1.01.10 'Ecology and silviculture of pine' and focused on Pinus cembra (Swiss stone pine), a fascinating timberline species and the 'queen' of the alpine mixed forests. After presenting the key ecological and silvicultural characteristics and potential uses, the speaker will focus in particular on adaptation to climate change and the provision of other important ecosystem services by these mountain forests, such as protection against natural hazards.
