As part of the Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen (SIERY) Project, funded by the European Union, local authorities in Marib Governorate hosted the first-ever sesame festival, marking the start of the sesame harvest season. This event brought together farmers, producers, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to: • Strengthen connections across the sesame value chain • Promote community-driven economic development • Showcase the potential of sesame cultivation The festival followed a series of tailored activities for farmers, businesswomen, and SMEs—delivered with the support of agricultural engineers, consultants, and local experts. All of these activities are part of the SIERY Project's local economic development package.
