Leading Vendors Towards Recognition and Rights
Street vendors are vital to Cambodia’s urban economy, yet many particularly women remain excluded from social protection systems. This video highlights Sokran Ke, a street vendor leader who is advocating for recognition and inclusion of informal workers.
Through Oxfam’s program “Improved Social Protection and Labour Rights for Women Workers in ASEAN’s Agri-Food Sector”, more than 34,700 women in Cambodia are gaining the tools, training, and confidence to claim their rights and bring their voices to policymakers. By empowering leaders like Sokran, the program ensures informal workers are seen, heard, and included in shaping a more inclusive future. This initiative is part of the program funded by the Belgium Development Cooperation (DGD).
