Building Women’s Voices Through Community Leadership

Building Women’s Voices Through Community Leadership

In rural Cambodia, women often struggle to have their voices heard and face barriers to social protection and labor rights. This video follows Sreyleak Chheun, a voluntary community helper and leader with Banteay Srei, who is mobilizing women, building networks, and amplifying voices long ignored. Through Oxfam’s program “Improved Social Protection and Labour Rights for Women Workers in ASEAN’s Agri-Food Sector”, more than 34,700 women in Cambodia are empowered to claim their rights, take part in decision-making, and shape inclusive policies. Their leadership is transforming communities and paving the way for equality and opportunity. This initiative is part of the program funded by the Belgium Development Cooperation (DGD).
